Tips for choosing a contractor
- Always get at least 3 quotes. scope, timeline, and price vary a lot between contractors
- Verify SEAI registration. check the relevant SEAI register before signing anything
- Ask for references. request before-and-after BER certs from similar completed projects
- Check insurance. ensure they have public liability and professional indemnity insurance
- Get everything in writing. scope of works, timeline, total cost, payment schedule, and warranty terms
