HomeEnergyGuide.ie (“we”, “our”, “us”) is operated by Homerating.ie. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our website.

What data we collect

We collect data in two ways:

• Information you provide: When you use our grant calculator, request quotes, or contact us, you may provide your phone number, email address, county, and home details (type, age, heating system). This is collected through forms powered by Formspree.
• Automatic information: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymised data including pages visited, time on site, device type, and approximate location (country/region level). We do not collect your IP address in identifiable form.

How we use your data

• Quote requests: When you submit a quote request, your contact details and home information are sent to up to 3 SEAI-registered contractors in your area so they can contact you with quotes. Your details are also sent to justin@homerating.ie.
• BER assessment enquiries: These are handled directly by Homerating.ie.
• Analytics: We use anonymised analytics data to improve our content and understand which guides are most useful.

Who we share your data with

• SEAI-registered contractors. only when you explicitly request quotes through our forms
• Formspree. our form processing provider (US-based, GDPR-compliant)
• Google Analytics. anonymised usage data only
• Netlify. our hosting provider

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

Your rights under GDPR

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. You can also object to processing and request data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email info@homeenergyguide.ie.

Data retention

Quote request data is retained for up to 12 months. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. You can request deletion at any time.
